DRY CREEK SPRING/SUMMER FALL EVENTS 2018

Family, Friends near and far,

I've been remiss in updating news from Dry Creek. I could give you a bunch of excuses but it mainly boils down to getting too busy with everyday life...I need to make time to stop and smell the roses or the horse manure or....whatever - I need to just SLOW DOWN!

Two sad things that happened to me this year of 2018 is that I lost both my Welsh mom and my Argentine step-mom. They were 92 and 89 respectively. They lived full lives, hopefully without regrets. So now I'm officially an "orphan"...or...something like that. Ok said that...now on to happier things...



Zulema or Chi as we called her came to our home after my parent's divorce and was married to dad for at least 30 years. A sweet soul and a savior to our family.

Since most of the news is on good 'ole FB, I will make this a compilation of self-explanatory images. Hope this suffices for now. So since last winter ...hahahaha...ok, it's been a while in any case. Can I cram almost 9 months into this...hummm.

the "rocks" are quite impressive after all these centuries, they've sunk a lot of money into keeping the place looking very well groomed - a tourist trap but worth it.

GARDEN, GARDEN, GARDEN

Thanks to my amazing daughter and the rest of the team...

After hunting season and potato harvest were done we made the switch into "semi-winter mode". School started in September and we've had a very nice fall...so we can't complain.

The guys built a very nice fishwheel and we were able to catch a good amount of fresh salmon.

 Oh yeah! Almost forgot, May took me up the Macomb Plateau, which is an intermediate to advanced hike. Took me about 5 hours but it was worth it!

I know there's much more to say. Cabins being built, comings and goings, various people have taken extended trips out of state. I don't keep up with all this sort of activity as well as my colleague Sarah does...I'm winging this one on my own, so bear with...

We hope that spring, summer, and fall have been good to you all and that you are enjoying your life, staying healthy and active and thanking God for every new day that you are alive in this amazing world.
