Story of the day: Storm passing through?
There's a story about a family that was in the middle of a great storm. A tornado was off in the distance and the father was doing everything that he could possibly do to prepare his family for what was about to happen. The father gathered a flashlight, a mattress, and headed his family straight into the basement.
He had his kids and wife kneel beside the basement wall and he placed the mattress over his their heads. As the father watched out of a tiny window to see the tornado approaching, a scared little boy ran to his father and held on to him with all of his might. You see, the boy had the right idea. In the midst of this storm, the little boy thought that he would be the safest when he was holding on tight to his daddy. He didn't care about anything else, but wanting his daddy to take care of him.
Are you experiencing any storms in your life? Have the winds from the tornados tossed you in all directions? If so, run and hold on tight to your daddy, because he will take care of you and protect you, even through the toughest storms.

MORE FARM NOOS...
Hello again,
Bro Bobby did preach last night. He said he was going to minister for a ½ an hour, then it stretched on for another ½ an hour. It was an excellent word on that a Christian should have four things: a renewed mind, purified speech, a hearing ear, and a seeing eye. I don’t think anyone minded hearing him preach. Sometimes our sharing meetings are slow starters.
I did forget to say one more thing about hanging laundry outside, and it is my favorite part - the smell. The smell of laundry that has hung in the spring breeze is so refreshing!!!!
Last night, Nathaniel spent the night with us before leaving for Eagle’s Ridge by way of Chris this morning. We enjoyed his visit. He caught us up on all manner of news. Matthew Campbell came over to visit after service and to use our internet. He and Kevin regaled each other with stories until the wee hours of the morning.
Many of the loggers went to Quartz Lake today to put up a cabin. I think they go out tomorrow too.
Jo took Allyson to the ER in Fairbanks last night since Allyson was in so much pain. Ally stayed in the hospital all night and after being released today, she is resting at Lolly’s. They plan to be home tonight. Allyson seemed to have had a particularly bad flare up of celiac sprue (not pancreatitis which was a concern). She was giving a lot of medicine in the hopes of improvement. (And, now since I didn’t send this message till late tonight… Ally and Jo are home.)
Matthew Campbell stayed here today and will meet up with Jack Stockton in Tok tomorrow. Then they will head to Haines.
Adrielle Fouse has moved here to live for awhile. She will be staying Seth and Kimberli.
Rachel Trotter turns 40 on Saturday. We had a small get together for her at Hannah’s tonight. Hannah made the neatest cake – it looked like it had spaghetti and meatballs on top, but it was all made of edible things.
Our last Fbks trip was full but uneventful. Building Blocks, Rob's Physical/Occupational Clinic finally graduated him. These folks have been great with Rob and I believe we started with them when he was like 6. They told us that th ey have no more to offer Rob and that he is doing fine, he is strong and has good balance and coordination. They praised his farm lifestyle which is largely responsible for his good physical development. Now there is one less therapist we have to go to on our trips to the big city. Course he has started more intensively with dental issues...looks like he might need braces. We shall cross that bridge when we come to it.

MELTING SNOW...
Hi folks,
Well, spring was here for about a week! We had sunny days that just made a person feel like a bundle of energy. Then yesterday it clouded over and a little blizzard flared up. L It was very sad. Today has been a snow less gray day. It is a cool 15° right now.
Last week I hung my first loads of laundry on my outside lines. It is such a milestone! There is a process to hanging the first laundry outside. Snow melts, I think, mostly from the underneath. The top of the snow seems unchanged and has a tough crust. If a person walks in undisturbed snow, it is relatively high until one crunches around in it. That’s what I have to do under my lines before I can walk comfortably to hang laundry. When my kids were little, they loved doing that job for me. Now, I don their boots and do it myself.
I forgot to mention that Seth went to Kodiak to work for Jason Underhill for a couple of weeks. Jason has a big job in Kodiak building a lodge or resort. Seth called on Sunday to say that he’s doing okay and could he stay longer. Poor Kevin is stuck doing all of Seth’s chores!
The mad logging season is mostly over. The guys have brought the equipment home. Thomas spent his last day in the woods leveling out the road so that forestry would be happy.
All our little kids have been sick with the flu for the past week - I think we contracted the bug from Whitestone. The whole of Whitestone has been severely sick for some time now. Hopefully no one else from here will get this awful bug.
Garth has started building trusses for the new tack shed which will be located over by the root cellar, sort of by the old tack shed. I really like the old tack shed. I need to go get pictures of its ancientness before it disappears. Because Garth pulled something in his back recently, he has been limping around.
Wenda arrives home today. Rachel Trotter went to Fairbanks to bring her home.
Ally has been hit with something with flu like symptoms. We are hoping that it is only a flare up of her celiac sensitivity.
Tonight Jack Stockton will be flying through (since even when he drives, he flies). He will be bringing Jim Mason home with him. He is also bringing Matthew Campbell, Bobby Owens, and Nathaniel Jeffreys to or from various places in the Interior. I did mention that Bro Bobby was ministering in SE Alaska and a little into Canada after he left here? And that he took Jim Mason with him?
Tom and Carolyn’s second grandchild is due to be born any day. Marki and Sam know they are having a girl which they plan on naming Gemma Gwen.
Pat Lou is home from England. He showed up here over the weekend to gather some of his things. Now he is off to the Wasilla/Palmer area to take up his position as a Tech II on the Gannet Glacier Fire Crew which is now a HotShot crew.

Today is birthday day – let me see if I can name all the ones I know – Sarah Jane Trotter, Richard Jepsen, Rus Basalyga, Brandon Miller, Lee Wilkerson, Eddie Trotzke, and ????
Rob and self have been invited to join the Special Needs Field trip to SE Alaska. We will be gone 5 days at the end of April and visit Seward and Homer. I think it should be interesting and I am hoping Rob will do well with the car travel.
Wicked wind blowing outside but the sun is shining!

A BALD EAGLE COMES TO VISIT OUR BARN
a lone eagle has come to visit our barn. Wonder why? Annie went out and took some nice close ups...amazing creature!
