SOME PAST EVENTS....

We had a wild weekend. Some folks from Haines – Marta Venebles with
Walt and Diane Atkinson came up on Saturday to collect a cow from us.
They passed through a lot of snow in their travel here. They spent the day
with us – Rich and Walt fixed their trailer’s lights and we all toured the farm.
John Venebles who is going to school at UAF came down stopping by
Whitestone to pick up his cousin and her friend, Allison Wenger and Julie
Brown. The kids went out and worked with our kids but they came in
starving for lunch and supper. Bro George Harris arrived on Saturday and
stayed through Monday morning. George preached on Sunday morning
about the need for God’s elect to have a clean conscience. Kelsey was
home for the weekend.

Some of the young guys including Pat Lou have been waiting up at night to
surprise some kind of creature who has been getting into our chicken coop
and decimating our chickens. So far they see no signs of the beast, it is too
smart to show itself.

I am enjoying teaching American History social studies to the 3 boys in
grade 3, including Rob. I also teach Science and have Rob on a modified
grade 3 curriculum for the rest of his academics. We keep plugging away at
Math using a Bob Jones curriculum which seems to work for him.
Pat and Beth are busily making plans and wading through the complexities
of immigration issues.
Still trying fit in my daily bike hike but getting rather cold.

Have a great week.

TATER HARVEST...!!

ROB SHOWING US A BIG TATER...

 SOME OLDER MOOSINGS....
Good morning!!!
We’ve had beautiful
weather for the last
10 days. We are
almost done with
our garden harvest
and moose meat
cutting. Then we
can concentrate on                   my future daughter in law Beth....
getting ready for
school. Of course,
Tony and the boys
still have lots of hay
to cut and wrap,
and Ben has grain to finish putting up. The grain is so wet this year that Ben has  to take every load to town to be dried.
In my last emails I mentioned that Chris T Williams, Andy, Tommy, Megan,
and Chris Jepsen shot moose. Since then Tony, Brad, Craig, and Jarred
each shot a moose. Tony got his on the LAST day! All but three of the
moose came out of the Fish Lake area.

Adrielle Fouse is out visiting for the weekend. Nathan Milliron is still here
working with his brother. Marilyn’s sister and sister in law had a great visit,
but now they are on their way home. Jon should be home to visit this
weekend. School is pretty rough on him. Fortunately he has Peter Casey
and Angela Macias to study with nearly every night. (It sounds like the
teacher teaches one thing and then asks other things on the test?)
Pat has been busy ATR helping with the grain operation and also helping
his Dad winterize the cabin.

We celebrated a kinda joint birthday for Pat and Beth as their birthdays
were one day apart in August and they were not here.

Annie, Beth and Kelly are spending some days down at the clinic in Tok to
re certify for their ETT ems stuff.

Rachel and Hannah Trotter have gone to visit their grandmother for 10
days. I talk to Rachel Trotter nearly every day on google chat.

I heard that Andrew Casey flew down to the states to drive up with Joey.
So, Joey and Andrew are driving to AK as we type/read this email. It would
probably be good if Joey could be home for the first day of school –
September 27th.

Bonnie’s mom needed some eye surgery so they’ve been back and forth to
Anchorage a lot lately.

School is around the corner and of course none of us feel prepared to
tackle it. Helps that I never quite am finsihed with Rob, but we have had a
rather lax attitude t'wds it this summer. Rob has had a busy schedulle and I
think has enjoyed his summer very much. Now he is busy following his big
brother around on different ventures....I will be teaching him in the morning
and then join two other third graders for Social Studies, Science and Bible.
Talk to you all later,
