Good morning – every morning this week we’ve had -38*. Then, throughout the day, it warms up to nearly zero degrees. I know this is normal for March, but I sure wish the temperatures could be a little more moderate!
I have been trying to get out and snowshoe after school but it is still quite nippy, even with the sun out! Took Julie Squires out in her new pink snowshoes, she and Rob broke trail up the creek from Masons to Casey's hill via Trotters bridge. Not a very long one but fun and a first for Jules. Nice to be out...even if it is rather cold. Here's some pics..
Last weekend, Thomas and Brad took a crew of guys to Kenai Peninsula to put together three cabin packages for some guy. Also on that trip were Craig, Seth F, and Jarred. Alaska ’s whole Interior was having severe winds that weekend – here, Kenai, Fairbanks , and more places. It was a little bit of a miserable time for them as they were trying to stack the cabins.
One night during that cold wind, someone left our door cracked open a little. The door never blew further open, but a lot of cold air sure blew inside in a short amount of time.
The highschoolers “production” last Wednesday went well. It was divided into two sections. The first part was a small play on Sampson and Delilah. Seth, who is out of school, was their Sampson, and Annie was their Delilah. It was cute. Seth had to wear a wig and then when they pulled it off, he’d gotten his hair shaved real close to his head in an attempt to make the play more authentic. J Then the kids did a skit thing on “Celebration City ”. It was cute.
May did all the costuming and props, having taken over my job...which I finally reliquished due to a bad case of burnout...after 11 years of faithful service, I might add. ahem...she did a great job! Sis. Judy as usual, revamped all the old costumes and made them look like new ones with her magic!
Kathryn did most of the piano playing for that part of the evening, and she played for May (who is out of school as well) when May sang, “Jerusalem , Jerusalem ”. May did an awesome job singing and Kathryn did an awesome job on the piano playing. A few damp eyes in the congregation.
When I get some photos I shall put them up.
So, its finally official that Pat andBethany ’s twins are now identified as identical girls!!!! I think it’s exciting. Wonder what Pat feels like in anticipation of being surrounded by many girls!

So, its finally official that Pat and
Ann is in Fairbanks this week with Micah. They are doing some therapy for Micah. I think it is some follow up for the therapy Micah does for several weeks in the summer time.
Early one morning last week, at 5 am, and at -36*, the boys went out to the barn to help Tom Geyer pull out some calves. We had twin girl calves and a single girl calf born that morning. Kevin wanted to name them after the Three Stooges because, for some reason, at that early hour, the guys thought the calves were boys. Later, after discovering that they calves were really girls, they have to think up new names.
Nic VanderHart went to a dentist appointment with his brothers and came back with four less baby teeth. (Nic is 13 yrs) He’s been on a diet of soft foods. The poor boy is skinny enough as it is.
We had a service on Sunday, but I don’t know what was said since I was in the kitchen preparing my Broccoli Moose meal with Wendy, Liz, and Jessy. (BTW, that meal was good or so I’ve heard since I don’t eat moose meat very well.)
I better get back to work, have a great week,
