Some smalltown farm noos....

"NOTHING DESTROYS COMMUNITY SPIRIT MORE THAN MISTRUST AND SUSPICION"..

Hello,
Please excuse the fact that I have been rather remiss in writing my journal. Very busy with slideshow for graduation...so many photos to scan, download, edit, etc. These kids have packed in so many extra curricular activities in the past 15 years. What a blessing though!

Joseph Casey, Olivia Geyer, Bethany Chartier and our Annie Buongiorne have been together since Kindergarten, and 3 of them were born right here on our farm. Isn't that awesome!

My favorite!

I am really enjoying looking at all the old pics of when they were little...so cute! especially the girls with their little bows, frills and dresses.

We finally came up with a solution for Rob and his bike. He was fast outgrowing his 20in. and we were debating what to do about it since he likes to be close to the ground and a 24in. would not do for him. So Pat had the bright idea of getting him one of those stunt bikes, made for teens. They are the same height, but have funny spokes poking out on the wheels plus the body is much longer to accomodate a youth. That was the ticket! We raised the seat and handlebars (which still have plenty of room for more as Rob grows), the bike looks cool, not like a little kids anymore, and he can still have the optional training wheel which is more like a security blanket for now. He will probably lose it this summer, but if he doesn't that's OK too...he loves to bike all over the property and it gives him mobility and excercise.

We took Annie into Fbks to get her wisdom removed...teeth that is...haha...so good to know there are capable professionals for that sort of work still in Fbks. We have lost so many of Rob's specialists. They either retire, or leave the state. Anyway, Annie came through with flying colors and is now recovering very nicely, looking a bit like a chipmunk. Now we don't have to worry about it cropping up when she is older (and the procedure is no longer covered by the State of Alaska). PTL

Nothing much, besides the usual to report...all quiet on the Alaska front. Still trying to get my snowshoeing time in but the snow is getting mushy and sticks to the snowshoes which makes me look like the abominable snowman!...haha. I have been taking the kinder and grade 1 kids out. Rather fun...they are so limber and fast, remind me of salamanders skimming over the water...leaving me behind.

Weather is still cool and chilly in the am. but gets above zero in the middle of the day and then drops again, but our sun is coming back and there is a harbinger of spring in the air.

The Owenses were here for a couple of days. Sis. Cathy gave a very good and invigorating word on being a fragrance unto the Lord and how our daily walk is directly influenced by our Christian "fragrance". Bobby was good as usual, talking about the acceptable tithe unto the Lord as well as giving us some of his famous oneliners such as:

"How do the sheep recognize the Shepherd?"

Anwer: "Because the Shepherd smells like them"...hummm...good one Bro. Bobby...ha!

Well, will try and post some more when Sarah J writes something more interesting to add.

Enjoy your week end, Everybody.
